Personal family recipe

Ingredients

5 cooking apples, pared, cored, and thinly sliced (about 3 pounds)

1/2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar

1/2 c. all-purpose flour

1/4 c. rolled oats, uncooked

1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp. salt

1/3 c. butter or margarine, cut into small pieces

Baking Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Place apples in greased, shallow 2 1/2 quart casserole or baking pan.  Combine remaining ingredients.  Crumble on top of apples.  Bake through until apples are tender – approximately one hour.
