I have a sweet tooth. There, I said it! Normally I have a hard time picking out a favorite dessert because, really, they’re all delicious. But every now and then, one particular dish stands out among the rest. For me, it’s one of my best friend’s, Ashley’s, strawberry shortcake trifle.
It’s fresh strawberry deliciousness, pound cake yummy-ness, light and rich…all in one bite! It is easily my favorite dessert! Not only is it a delight for the tastebuds, it’s also very pretty and easily the center of attention on a picnic table or the like.
Ingredients:
1 pkg. pound cake
2 quarts of fresh strawberries
1 pkg. vanilla pudding mix
1 large container of Cool Whip
Splash of milk
Preparation:
Wash, hull and slice the strawberries.
Cut the pound cake into cubed, bite-sized pieces.
In one bowl, mix together Cool Whip, pudding mix and a splash of milk. The goal is a smooth, fluffy consistency.
Using a trifle dish (or similar), layer in the ingredients -
1/3 of the pound cake cubes
1/3 of the pudding/Cool Whip mixture
1/3 of the strawberries
Continuing layering until all of the ingredients have been used.
